The part you need, as a file your editor opens.
Lynx downloads reference clips and b-roll you have the right to use, plus the large files a project needs, while you keep editing.
Download only the part you need
Drag the handles to choose the part. The file size updates as you drag.
- Up to 5 minutes per clip on Free, any length on Pro
- Several parts from one video in one go (Pro)
- Video or audio, plus vertical 9:16, square and GIF on Pro
Clip and video formats
If Premiere shows only the audio of a file you already have, here’s why and how to fix it.
- H.264 and AAC, in an MP4With Exact frames on (the default), each clip starts and ends on the frames you picked and is saved as 8-bit 4:2:0 H.264 with AAC sound. Premiere, Final Cut Pro and DaVinci Resolve all support that format.
- A faster cutTurn Exact frames off for a quicker cut on the nearest keyframe, in the source’s original codec.
- Whole videos, H.264 firstFull downloads save as MP4, and Lynx prefers H.264 at the quality you pick. If a site has no H.264 at that quality (often above 1080p), you get the best available MP4, which can be AV1.
- Just the soundKeep only the audio of a part, as MP3, M4A, FLAC or WAV.
Large project downloads
For footage deliveries, sound libraries and project archives, Lynx splits each file across up to 32 connections and resumes after a dropped connection or a restart. With the extension, large downloads in Chrome, Edge, Brave and Arc open in Lynx automatically.
Add the extension in one click from Lynx › Settings › Browser. It comes from the Chrome Web Store.
Download progress in the notch
While you cut, your downloads sit beside the camera. Hover for speed and time left. Copied links, music and a file shelf in the notch come with Pro.
