Install Lynx on your Mac

Download Lynx, move it to Applications and open it for the first time — about a minute.

Download

Go to Download and choose Download for Apple silicon — or Download for Intel if your Mac has an Intel processor. Not sure which one you have?

The download is a disk image called Lynx-1.0.0.dmg, about 140 MB.

Install

  1. Open your Downloads folder and double-click the .dmg file.
  2. In the window that opens, drag the Lynx icon onto the Applications folder.
  3. Eject the disk image (the ⏏ next to it in Finder’s sidebar). You can delete the .dmg file afterwards.

Open it

Open Lynx from Launchpad, from Spotlight (⌘ Space, type “Lynx”) or from the Applications folder.

The first time, macOS may ask whether you want to open an app downloaded from the internet. Choose Open. If macOS says Lynx “can’t be opened”, see Lynx can’t be opened.

That’s it — there’s no account to create. Every Pro feature is unlocked for your first 14 days.
